Workflow

Phase 1: Research (Days 1-2)

For each VC target, research and document:

  1. Recent investments — especially DePIN, Solana, RWA, mobility

  2. Public thesis — what they've said about DePIN, autonomous vehicles, RWA

  3. Twitter activity — recent posts, what they engage with

  4. Portfolio synergies — companies in their portfolio T420 could partner with

  5. Warm intro paths — mutual connections, portfolio founders, event overlap

Store research in vc-targets.json under each contact's entry.

Phase 2: Warming (Days 2-5)

For each VC partner on Twitter:

  1. Like 2-3 of their recent relevant posts

  2. Reply with thoughtful, substantive comments (NOT promotional):

    • Add data points to their DePIN takes

    • Share relevant industry news they might have missed

    • Ask intelligent questions about their thesis

  3. Retweet with short insightful comment (1-2 per VC max)

  4. Goal: Become a recognized name in their mentions before cold email lands

Reply templates (adapt, never copy):

Rules for warming:

  • Never mention T420 in warming replies

  • Be genuinely helpful and insightful

  • Space engagements 4+ hours apart

  • Don't like/reply to everything — be selective and authentic

Phase 3: Cold Email (Days 5-7)

Send personalized email based on pre-written templates in T420_VC_COLD_EMAILS.md.

Personalization requirements:

  1. Reference their specific thesis or recent investment

  2. Reference a specific tweet or public statement

  3. Explain why their fund specifically is the right fit

  4. Keep to ~250 words (VCs skim)

Email structure:

Send timing:

  • Tuesday-Thursday only

  • 9-11am in the recipient's timezone

  • Never Monday or Friday

Phase 4: Follow-Up (Day 10-12)

If no response after 5-7 days, send ONE follow-up:

Phase 5: Response Handling

Positive response (wants to meet):

  1. Flag as URGENT in daily brief for Zane

  2. Draft 2-3 time slot suggestions

  3. Update vc-targets.json status to "meeting_requested"

  4. Do NOT schedule the meeting yourself — Zane handles this

Soft positive (interested but not now):

  1. Note in daily brief

  2. Set reminder to follow up in 30 days

  3. Continue warming on Twitter

  4. Update status to "interested_later"

Decline:

  1. Log gracefully

  2. Update status to "declined"

  3. Continue light Twitter engagement (long game)

  4. Do NOT send further emails

No response after follow-up:

  1. Update status to "no_response"

  2. Continue light Twitter warming

  3. Retry email in 45 days with new angle

Output Format (vc-targets.json entry)

Escalation Rules

  • Any VC responds positively → URGENT flag in daily brief

  • VC asks for materials beyond pitch deck → flag for Zane (may need data room)

  • VC asks legal/regulatory questions → STOP, escalate to Zane

  • VC introduces to another partner at their firm → treat as warm lead, restart warming with new contact

  • VC says "not right now but keep us posted" → calendar reminder for 30-day follow-up

Abort Conditions

  • If email bounces → verify address, try alternate contact

  • If 3+ emails bounce from same domain → stop emailing that firm

  • If any VC publicly complains about outreach → STOP all email, alert Zane

  • If email account gets flagged/limited → STOP, alert Zane
